About Us
Purveyors of Whimsy
Little Chaos Co. manufactures whimsy, wonder and cacophonous joy. Specializing in shadow puppetry and street performance, a strong belief in the power of the extraordinary compels us to be constantly searching for unusual and visually creative ways to tell stories.

Our Story
In the year 2024, Sequoia Erickson and Robin Kadirgamar came together with a dream;
of bringing the magic of shadow puppetry to non-traditional theatre spaces. With their dream and a deadline before them they put their thinking caps on and created The Shadow Tent, and their first show Moondance, which premiered at the Royal Ontario Museum in January, 2024.
The creative candle was lit, since its premiere Moondance has played across globe, making its international premiere at the Harmony World Puppet Innovation Festival in Bangkok, Thailand in November, 2024. With the spiritual sequel, In Colour, following shortly after at the ROM in December. The Shadow Tent has played at Toronto International Buskerfest, University of Toronto Schools, The Westin Harbour Castle, PAMA, Ken Seiling Waterloo Regional Museum, Concrete Cabaret, Fresh Ideas in Puppetry Conference and beyond over the last two and a half years.
Simultaneously, Sequoia has been a stilt walker for the last twenty years and has infused her particular style of spectacular street performance into the Little Chaos fold, crafting one-of-a-kind costumes that spread wonder at all manner of community and corporate events. Our latest creation, Bluebelle Mariposa, made her feature debut at Toronto's Concrete Cabaret in July 2025.
As we approach our 50th Shadow Tent show, and our third year of collective creation, we're excited to continue to bring shadow magic and spectacle art to nontraditional spaces, while we grow and develop to invite new artists and audiences into our work. This year we have two new shadow shows in development, along one spectacular new stilt character, so watch this space for upcoming performances and events!
Meet The Team

Sequoia Erickson
Creative Director
Sequoia Erickson is the conductor of this particular train. Her infatuation with light and shadow started in the womb, the original non-traditional theatre space, and has only grown in both size and shape since. When she takes a break from her conductor duties she is a freelance Costume Designer, Puppeteer and Stilt Walker; the Producer at Toronto's only puppetry hub, The Puppetry Exchange; and an avid wearer of silly hats.

Robin Kadirgamar
Creative Producer
Robin Kadirgamar is a multidisciplinary badass and crocheting sensation, born and raised in Scarborough. Their puppetry finesse has brought a particular magic to Little Chaos that no one can quite put their finger on, but we'd be much lesser without it. When not fanning the Little Chaos coals, Robin works as a Crew Member at Crow's Theatre and Opera Atelier; a freelance Costume Designer; and terrorizes the west-end drag scene as their alter-ego Andy Fetamean.

Katie Rebich
Puppeteer
Katie Rebich is a force of nature. A phenomenal clown, puppeteer and facilitator, Katie rides the wind like a shining beacon of the chaos we dream of achieving collectively. A champion of tiny nothings; Katie is a teaching artist, the Co-Artistic Director of StoryUp! Aerial Theater and a steely-minded Producer at Flawed Designs.
In her down time you can find her kicking up dust in sketchy alleys with her trusty sidekick, Gene.

Maddy Smart
Puppeteer
Maddy Smart is performance creator with a fierce organizational right hook and a love of weird, sad puppets. So naturally she fits right in here at Little Chaos. A Concordia University theatre program graduate, her professional works have been presented as part of the Art Matters, Revolution they Wrote and OFFTA festivals in Montreal. Her passion for creation as a movement for meaningful change is pretty rad, if we do say so ourselves.
